The Bay Area is freaking out over this famous boba shop

People waited in line for hours on Friday, Sept. 29, for the arrival of Chicha San Chen at a Cupertino strip mall. They said they were excited to try the international Taiwanese hit in part because it’s been awarded what’s referred to as the equivalent of three Michelin stars from the International Taste Institute.

New Cupertino Boba Shop Draws Hour-Long Waits

A highly-anticipated new boba shop has made Cupertino its home: Chicha San Chen. The franchise’s Cupertino location is the first in all of Northern California. As such, it is currently drawing waits from 40 minutes to two hours, with lines stretching down the block. Fortunately, guests are supplied with umbrellas to shade them as they wait.
